Look What the Grayson SBDC can do for you...
The Grayson SBDC provides FREE business counseling and FREE or low cost training for entrepreneurs and small business owners. Our staff consists of Certified Business Development Specialists as well as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor™. Counseling topics will be customized for each client based on a needs assessment and may include:
Conducting a feasibility study;
Research related to the proposed business;
Demographic information for the geographic area of the proposed business;
Identifying legal registrations, permits, tax issues and certifications needed;
Help in determining how much money will be required to start and operate the business;
Business plan development;
Development of financial projections, recordkeeping and use of accounting software;
Assistance in preparing a loan proposal and application for a business loan.
Clients may also find it helpful to attend training classes and seminars on topics such as:
Business start-up basics
Writing a business plan,
Business financial management,
Recordkeeping for small businesses
Marketing, or
Personnel issues.
SBDC specialty centers provide assistance in each of the following areas:
Government contracting opportunities,
Importing and Exporting,
Risk Management
Technology assistance, or
Enterprise excellence.
