Class Description: Basic workshop on starting a new business in Grayson County or Fannin County. Workshop covers feasibility, business plan preparation, choosing a legal entity, sources of capital, licenses and permits, how to prepare a business plan and how to estimate start up and operating costs. How to Start and Operate a Small Business in North Texas

Class Description: This class provides an in-depth study of the process of starting and operating a small business. Topics include feasibility of starting a business, risk management (insurance, etc.), selecting the legal form of business, planning for tax issues, preparing a business plan or loan proposal, how to finance the new business, basic marketing for small businesses, basic recordkeeping for business. Last class is an overview of the entire process, including a startup checklist, various registrations and forms, business opportunities and on-going free assistance available to small business owners REGISTRATION must be completed prior to the first class session.
